Hee Jesse, welkom bij Orfeo! Onze fans willen natuurlijk alles van je weten.. lievelingskleur, lievelingseten, naar welke muziek luister je en wat is je favoriete biertje?
[Jesse zwijgt en glimlacht, hij vindt dit maar rare vragen]
Ja. Ik zit al een tijdje achter het drumstel. Ook ben ik thuis veel muziek aan het componeren in mijn 'studio'.
Je hebt de opleiding Audio Engineering gedaan op het SAE in Rotterdam. Wat leer je daar zoal?
Alle ins en outs over recording en mixing en studio omgeving.
Je hebt al een tijdje met enkele Orfeoos samengespeeld in Ball Noir, waar je de sequencers en drumcomputers voor je rekening neemt. Wil je zoiets ook bij Orfeo gaan doen (naast drummen)?Dat hangt van de andere Orfeoleden af. Ik heb zeker al een paar songs gehoord waar het prima bij zou kunnen. De vraag is: willen we die kant op, want je krijgt een bepaald geluid.
Wat doe op het moment allemaal nog meer naast Orfeo (andere bands, werk, hobby's)?
Ik ben bezig met de opnames van een album van een vriend van mij. Daarnaast ben ik bezig met een paar eigen projecten. Daar is alleen geen haast bij. :) Als ik geen muziek maak, besteed ik mijn tijd als barman in een speciaalbierenkroeg.
Hey Jesse, welcome to Orfeo! Our fans obviously want to know everything about you … favourite colour, favourite food, what music you listen to and what is your favourite beer?
Where you involved in making music before Orfeo?
Yes. I've been sitting behind my drums for a while now. At home I also compose a lot of music in my own 'studio'.
You finished your studies Audio Engineering at the SAE of Rotterdam. What did you learn there?
Everything about recording, mixing and studio environment.
You play for a while now together with some Orfeos in Ball Noir where you play the drum computers and sequencers. Do you think you will also play these in Orfeo (besides drumming)?
That depends on the other Orfeos. There are a couple of songs where it would sound very good, but the question is: do we want to go in that direction, since you create a very distinct sound.
What do you do besides Orfeo (other bands/work/hobbies)?
Currently I'm recording the album of a friend of mine. Besides that I'm working on a few projects of my own, but there's no need to hurry in that. When I'm not making music I work as a bartender in a special beers pub.
What's the first time we can see you in action?
I already played with Orfeo the 16th of October on Celt-n-Folk, and I hope to meet more folkies on the Archeon Midwinter Fair (11 and 12th of December, Alphen a/d Rijn, NL).
